So, while in the yard playing, the children found a fun little ...... passing through guest.

We took video of this little guy moving on his way and you would not believe how fast he went. Now the children are doubting the story of the tortoise and the hair.

Yep, it's a snake. Our Little Man found this while we were at Grandma's house. He was so fascinated that he showed everyone that he could find.

The picture speaks for itself!

Sissy took this picture and did a real nice job. I didn't alter the image at all. Good Job Sissy!

We have just picked up and moved to a new homestead. Here is a sneak peek of the scene that greeted me our first morning here. What a beautiful sight.

The sum comes up just behind the tree and is something wonderful to see! We are looking forward to shareing the sights with friends and family. Give a call and come on over.
Love,
Mother Dean

06/10: Apple Gleaning

We were allowed to go gleaning in a local orchard and the children had a blast. First they loaded up in the mower drawn cart and off they went.

Once we all arrived in the orchard, the children set to work getting the unwanted apples. The apples were carefully placed in baskets that were in the cart. The youngest overlooked the operations. Once the baskets were full we were ready to go home, but the children had something else in mind.

They filled up the cart around the baskets and the young overseers. It was ok for a while but the boys soon decided that they didn't like being crowded by the apples and found themselves walking with the rest of us.
All in all, it was a great day in the country. With beautiful skies, sunny weather and all the apples that you could want, what more could you ask for?

01/10: Billy Goats At Snow Hill

We welcomed the new goats that were added over at Snow Hill. The children really love goats. Perhaps we will have some when they get old enough to take care of them. For now, we can enjoy those that belong to friends!

24/09: An Unusual Guest

The other day we were visiting at Snow Hill, as we do on a regular basis, and the children brought into the house an unusual guest. We looked in a book to find out what type of snake this is but the closest guess that we had was a water snake. That does make perfect since because they found it in the spring creek.

Around here there always seems to be more.....
There are two sets of chicks, young ones and even younger ones. Here is Little Man holding one of the younger ones. I still can't believe that they just sit on his lap. You wouldn't believe how excited he still gets every time they do!

Here are the young ones, also known as the "barn yard mix". Can you guess what breeds they are?

more sun
more chores
more fun
and more peeps!

There are some new faces in our part of the country these days. Some friends of ours have just brought home a small flock of goats. As far as I know they are Dwarf Nubian Goats. Very cute!
I don't have to remind you that Curly just loves goats. She hung out with this little girl for hours, helping to make her feel right at home in her new pasture.

25/04: Hang'in Out The Wash

Well, we have our clothesline for National Hanging Out Day. You would not believe the excitement when I told the girls that they could help me hand out the clothes. They both wanted to be able to help first..... of course I let them both do the job.
Here is Curly, standing on a lawn chair, hanging up laundry. You can just see the determination.
